LIKE A PENGUIN ON A TROPICAL BEACH

Like a penguin on a tropical beach, this is exactly how I feel at this particular time of the year.

No fall, but a never-ending summer instead as the hot weather is really very reluctant to give our poor bodies a deserved break and thus the sun keeps shining fiercely, giving us a clear idea of what Hell must be like.

But, of course, tourists from the North hemisphere, keep saying that "This is Heaven on Earth", what a paradox!
And in the meantime I keep languishing, longing to feel the first chills of the blessed season which gives place to winter: Autumn!

You've already guessed by now that fall is my favorite season and yes, I adore the time when trees start wearing their earthy colors: how awesome is a landscape then!
An explosion of reds, rubies, burgundies, yellows, oranges, ambers, browns, chocolates...
The sky fades and its blue turns into a pale grey. The light is soft and the sun is cooling. Days are shorter and nights are chilly.
There is a perfume of wet soil in the air, temperatures drop softly, and clouds gather up in the sky and a refreshing wind blows, directing the branches of the trees in a melodic choir "in bocca chiusa".
People start spending more time inside and streets turn into parades of jackets, sweaters, scarves, caps, hats, gloves, boots, stockings and socks...

Those of you who live in the North will be glad to have the temperatures and the weather I am complaining about and this is why YOU make me feel like a square hole, like that damned poor penguin on a tropical beach. Forgive me, ladies and gentlemen, but I feel closer to penguins than to lizards.

Obviously Spanish people don't understand my STRANGES preferences either; this is why I hardly dare to talk about them as they don't have the slightest idea about how deep is my despair...

So, after all my explanations and statements, you can call me weird if you please but I can't avoid feeling like a penguin on a tropical beach waiting for the first iceberg ^_***

Like you I love the winter. (Have never seen Autumn)
i love it when its cold & you can go out without having to hide from the sun or without sweating.
I love the long, cool quiet nights.
I love the rains & breezes.
Its a wonderful time of year when the world lies asleep & i can walk through its stillness & enjoy its sleeping beauty.
